Puppy Bling

What puppy doesn't deserve a little bling?  I picked up the gold colored sugar crystals a while back and have been itching to use them.  They do rather perk up the puppy's collar, I think.  A-chan's reaction was precious. "Mommy, where did you get the gold?"  There was almost a reverent echo to the last word.

In the bento:  Steamed rice with a puppy on top, fried tofu, carrot ribbons in a heart shaped container, sugar snap peas and a halved strawberry on heart picks.

The puppy was cut from soy turkey slices using my food scissors.  Her collar was cut from provolone cheese, as was the spot around her eye.  The facial features and collar stars were punched from nori using three different punches.  A carrot flower with provolone and sugar dot center completed the absolute cuteness.

Our kitty is recovering perfectly!  He is back to his normal self and doing all the kitty things that he should.  Thank you all so much for the well wishes for him.  I am so grateful to the vet who pulled off the miracle surgery!

Hi Heather! Kitty had a colon tumor that ended up on the outside of his body (he pooped it out, basically). It was horrible :( But the vet pulled off a miracle and fixed him up. He's back to his old self and seems to be feeling perfect!

I just love your bentos.
My daughter hets a school bento from me every day, but so far I haven't had the tools to create some cute faces to her bento.
I would love to make my Little One happy, but I am not sure what kind of nori punches I should get.

I looked at the nori punches at Casabento and am really confused: What is the difference between plastic nori punches like these http://casabento.com/shop/en/566-cutters-pikkoron-book-nori-punch.html and other normal looking nori punches like these http://casabento.com/shop/en/577-nori-punch-nikosmiley.html.
Do they work the same?
I would appreciate some advice from you before I order something wrong. Thanks:-)

Hi Saffron and Corainder (love that name)! The main difference is that the first cutters are for cutting face shapes from vegetables or cheese. The others are actual nori punches. Both are great bento tools to have. Those nori punches are the ones that I use - I prefer them to vegetable features because I can cut them out beforehand and just store them which makes mornings easier! Definitely let me know what you get and what you think :)
