It's a lightsaber!

There are only a few phrases that a bento-making mom dreads to hear.  Among them are, "I dropped my bento", "What is the cat doing on the counter?" and the most horrible of all, "What is that supposed to be?"  Guess which one was said this morning?  Sigh.  Yes, it was the last one.  Once I explained that it was a boy with a lightsaber A-chan could suddenly see it.  "Oh, now I see.  It's Anakin!" She exclaimed.  What is the most dreaded phrase that you guys fear?

In the bento: Frozen blueberries in a container, soy sauce tofu chunks, a baby corn spear, baby tomatoes, dill pickle slices, miniature pancakes (there are three more under the boy's face) and a carrot lightsaber.

Since I make bento for myself only (Ragnar, the boyfriend, is not enticed by my bento displays), the worst phrase I fear is "Are you sure that's safe to eat?"

Lol, that's a good one though :) It's definitely easier when you're making bentos for yourself - I totally knew this was Anakin with a lightsaber!

Of course it's Anakin! MY worst bento fear is the dropping, or course, closely followed by the evil kitty trying to sneak a bite! I love it!!

haha mine is "Mama I don't like to have colorful food (artificial) in my bento".
Your Anakin is too cute!

Ooo yes, what is that is a very scary question! Also the question "Are you sure that is edible" Anakin bento is super cute!

Pancake Anakin and carrot lightsaber? Fantastic! My kids quite often don't know what I made. Or they thought it was something completely different. I'm used to it already! I guess I better hone my skills one of these days :)

Ah, so you have an evil kitty too Heather? I have started taking precautions against kitty thieves when I make bentos!

Thank you, Babykins! Oh gosh, that would be a hard one for me - I love to artificially color things. But natural color is much healthier :)

Thanks, Jenn! It seems like a lot of bento makers get scary comments and questions :)

It's really cute, haha. This just means that you have to practice some more. I know the feeling though, sometimes (whenever I make a bento) I might look at the picture one day and wonder what it was.
